The most legendary event in Pembrokeshire YFC's calendar on its way and promises to be bigger, better and healthier than ever. The county's 600 members are gearing up for a day crammed with healthy living and myths and legends-themed competitions at the annual rally at the County Showground, Withybush, tomorrow (Saturday). This year healthy living is Wales YFC's theme, with competitions such as performing a fitness routine, smoothie making, cooking a healthy school meal and fruits and vegetables battling it out in an It's a Knockout-style race. The theme for the national competitions is myths and legends, with members being asked to depict the land of make-believe and legends of our time in the floral competitions and design an outfit for a myths and legends-themed fancy dress party. There are also many traditional competitions such as craft, forestry, folk dancing, scrapbooks and club displays, as well as the ever-popular Stars in your Eyes. County organiser Dill Williams said: "The rally is a day which everyone looks forward to and even though it's incredibly busy, it really highlights just how versatile our members are. One minute they can be stockjudging then the next they're dancing before racing around dressed up as vegetables! "It does mean that there's always something worth watching and even though the whole day is based around competitions, the rivalry is all good natured and the members just love coming together and meeting up for the day before unwinding at the rally dance." One of the non-competitive highlights of the rally will be the crowning of this year's County YFC Queen, Emma James, of Llysyfran YFC, who will be accompanied by her four attendants Jess Griffiths, of Keyston YFC, Kate Richards, of Clynderwen YFC, Rhian Thomas, of Llysyfran YFC and Non Thorne, Tiers Cross YFC. Entry to the rally is £4 for adults and £2 for primary school children and competing members.
