But the plan by Mr. Darling, who is planning to do a 'Beeching' in several areas of the UK, including Pembrokeshire, hit the buffers when a letter from Penally Community Council about the cuts came before town councillors in Tenby last week.
At the meeting, members agreed to 'join forces' by meeting with the other town and community councils served by the line and 'present a combined front in order to get the proposal scrapped'.
