The RAFA Band entertained a large audience with music to suit all tastes at St. Mary's Church, Tenby, last Saturday. Musical director Peter Skellon, on the band's first visit to the town, thanked Tenby folk and visitors for their generous hospitality and appreciation, which had made the evening memorable and enjoyable for everyone. RAFA branch chairman, Sq. Ldr. Philip Philo, on behalf of RAFA and the Air Training Corps, gave a vote of thanks to the band and audience for their support with special mention to St. Mary's director of music, Dr. John Harrison, for his valuable assistance before and during the event, and also to the clergy and wardens for allowing the concert to take place there. The proceeds of £1,000-plus will be shared between the RAFA Wing's Appeal and the ATC, Tenby Squadron, for much needed educational equipment. The organisers wish to thank their sponsors, amongst whom were Drainrod Limited, SWES Limited and Ocky White Travel Limited and also the Tenby Observer, the Western Telegraph and Radio Pembrokeshire for their support and publicity for the event.
