PICTURED is 17-year-old Claire Hovey, who has just spent a week on work experience at the Observer with a view to a future career in journalism.
A Year 12 pupil at Pembroke School, Claire spent the week shadowing the reporters on a variety of assignments and was on hand to see all aspects of the paper's production.
Claire, who is studying for her A Levels in French, English, music and drama, lives in Warren, Castlemartin, with her parents Anne and Chris and elder sister, Ciara and brother, Liam.
Claire's hobbies include playing the clarinet and piano. She also accompanies local students for music exams and enjoys playing in the John McGarry Quartet and in pit orchestras for local shows. She is also a member of the county and three counties wind band.
With a keen interest in drama, Claire, a former pupil at Netherwood School, Saundersfoot, takes part in school house plays and is a former member of the National Youth Theatre of Wales. She is also busy completing her Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award.
