Tenby couple Mervyn and Marjorie Tucker were delighted recently to celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary...and even more pleased to have received congratulations from Her Majesty the Queen!

The couple, who live on Penally Road, marked 60 years of marriage on November 14 - and as well as receiving a wealth of cards from family and friends (they have three children, nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren) they also received a card from the palace.

Mr. and Mrs. Tucker, who were the first couple to get married at the new register office in Pembroke, said they felt ‘lucky’ to have received the congratulations card, and it was down to their grandson Glen as he got in touch with Buckingham Palace to let them know about his grandparents’ milestone occasion.

As Marjorie recently experienced a fall, she and Mervyn, a former captain of Tenby United RFC and of Tenby Golf Club, have arranged to have a double-celebration on Christmas Eve, to coincide with her birthday.
