Last Tuesday, on a lovely summer evening, the Quaynotes mixed choir performed at St. Johns Church, Tenby. Under the leadership of conductor Mr. Glyn Evans, the singers entertained with a varied programme of religious music and songs from the shows. Well received by the knowledgeable and appreciative audience, were such favourites as Ave Verum, Edelweiss and Ash Grove. Supporting the choir were regular soloists Mr. Colin Clarke and Mrs. Val Evans, whose performance of Secret Love from the musical Calamity Jane, was probably the highlight of the evening. With the wonderful support of accompanist Mrs. Sharon Lusher, the evening, expertly guided along by compere Colin Clarke, was well received by holidaymakers and local alike. The choir's next performance will be Saturday, September 3, at St. Mary's Church, Pembroke, where they will be performing the opening concert of the Pembroke Festival 2005.
