Easter Saturday saw the Quaynotes Mixed Choir giving a concert for holidaymakers and locals at the Giltar Hotel, Tenby.
It was an evening of some significance for the choir because, apart from a cameo appearance as a guest choir at St. Johns Church Gymanfa Ganu, this was their first public performance led by Sharron Lusher in her new role as musical director, conductor and pianist.
Although choir and their leader approached the event with some trepidation, the evening passed without a hitch, with all participants performing in perfect harmony, with the amazingly talented Mrs. Lusher note perfect on the piano and in complete command of her singers.
Solo items were provided by Jane Palmer, who sang 'I Dreamed a Dream', Ray Hughes, who led the choir in 'We'll keep a welcome', and Bronwen Hicks, who brought a lovely touch of Welshness to the evening with her performance of Mansel Thomas's 'Hob Y Deri Dando'.
The choir's next performance is at Crundale Village Hall on Saturday, April 21, followed by a joint concert with La Volta at St. Mary's, Carew, on Thursday, May 3, at 7.30 pm.
