Last Thursday, the Quaynotes Choir were invited for the first time to perform at St. Florence Church and what a lovely occasion it was.

A fine old building, wonderful acoustics, and a warm and knowledgeable audience all made for a night to remember.

A fine selection of choral favourites was supported by the choir's own soloist.

Special mention goes to Ray Hughes, the choir's very own Usain Bolt whose rousing performance of Holy City was worthy of a gold medal. Praise also to accompanist Eileen Thomas for chasing Ray all the way to the line.

Thanks for the evening were given by church warden Keith Nixon (no mean chorister himself) before everyone retired to the Parsonage Inn where refreshments were provided by the landlord and much appreciated by all.
