Last Sunday, the Quaynotes mixed choir, under the leadership of musical director Sharron Lusher, commenced their season of Christmas concerts with a performance at St. James Church, Manorbier.
Despite the awful weather, the lovely old church on the hill was full with parishioners who enjoyed an evening of festive music and song.
The evening, compered by choir chairman, Robert Parsons, in his usual understated but very effective style, consisted of Christmas carols with audience participation and choral favourites sung by the choir.
Solo items were provided by Bron Hicks and Eunice Prout, with Margaret Richards and Elaine Williams combining to sing a lovely version of of the old favourite 'When a Child is Born', all expertly accompanied by pianist Eileen Thomas.
The evening's finale was provided by Ron Rees and Mel Hicks (pictured) performing the well-known version of 'Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth', famously sung by Terry Wogan and Aled Jones for Children in Need.
Any success that the two choristers achieved was a testament to the patience and musical ability of choir leader Sharron, who spent many an hour with them making sure it would be 'all right on the night'.
The Quaynotes' next performance is tonight (Friday) when they will be combining with the Blue School children's choir to perform a Christmas concert, commencing 7.15 pm at St. John Church, Pembroke Dock.
