A seven-month-old puppy had a lucky escape on Tuesday morning after becoming stuck on a ledge over 170-feet above Tenby's North Beach.

Sadie, a Boxer bitch, had been out in the garden of Hafod, North Cliffe, when her owner noticed she had disappeared shortly after 11 am.

After scouring the garden, Sadie's owner, Grant Evans, heard her yelps for help and found her stuck on an overgrown ledge 12 to 15-foot down the sheer cliff face.

Grant and his friend, Gary Evans, with whom he was staying, called the fire brigade for assistance, but on their arrival, the help of the town's coastguard team was also requested.

After being located below the property, First Point, coastguard team member, Des Rees was lowered down the cliff to Sadie. He strapped the dog into a harness and the two were hauled back to the top where Sadie was happily reunited safe and well with her owner.
