It was a busy week at Whitland's Hywel Dda Centre recently (September 22-26), when Rhodri Morgan and Nia Evans, of the Education Services National Library of Wales, visited to give workshops to pupils from local schools in and around Whitland.

Ken Rees, secretary of Cymdeithas Hywel Dda, was delighted that this partnership with the National Library continues to flourish through these educational workshops. He also stated that the schools very much appreciated this initiative as the 'Age of the Princes' is an area of study in the national curriculum.

The workshops included how to gather suitable information for projects, how manuscripts were created and placed the Laws of Hywel in their historical context.

The schools taking part were: Ysgol Llys Hywel, Whitland, Bro Mynach, Llanboidy, Beca Efailwen, Narberth, Tavernspite, and Griffith Jones, St. Clears.

The workshops were organised by Hywel Dda committee members Mrs. Valerie Davies, assisted by Mrs. Meinir Eynon.
