Plans to prosecute the owner of a Tenby pub over planning issues at the premises' beer garden could be dropped after National Park inspectors found that work had been carried out to amend the infringement.

At a meeting of the Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park Authority's development management committee last week, members voted unanimously to seek prosecution against Clr. Mike Evans, owner of the Hope and Anchor Inn in St. Julian's Street, after he failed to remove decking that had been erected without permission.

However, following the committee's decision to prosecute the owner in respect of the unauthorised works, a spokesperson for the authority said that the site had again been inspected and it had been noted that works had been undertaken at this late stage to rectify the breach.

"The authority is still considering whether this is sufficient to meet the terms of the notice, whether further works are necessary to comply with the notice and whether it is expedient in the public interest to pursue the matter further," added the spokesperson.
