The Tenby coast has been named one of the top five most picturesque seaside locations in the UK.

In a report released by holidaycottages.co.uk, Tenby was ranked number five on the list of beautiful coastal locations.

The town was beaten out by Robin Hood’s Bay, Wells Next To The Sea, Polperro and Crail - but was chosen over hundreds of other seaside towns across the country.

Areas of the town that were named ‘key highlights’ were the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, the Tudor Merchant’s House and St Catherine’s Fort.

There are plenty of reasons that Tenby is considered one of the most picturesque seaside towns in the UK, and the report cited its three sandy beaches, the harbour, and the medieval stone walls around the town.

Commenting on the most picture-perfect locations, a spokesperson at holidaycottages.co.uk said: “In the UK, we’re incredibly lucky to have some of the most beautiful seaside towns and villages that are truly picture-perfect – and Tenby is a brilliant example of this.

“Tenby is a beautiful harbour town that’s steeped in history, and with beaches, colourful cottages and pretty narrow streets, there’s something for everyone to enjoy on a trip to this lovely Welsh town; you could even be forgiven in thinking you’re in a Mediterranean town walking through it!

“Named one of our most picture-perfect locations in the UK, we know a trip to Tenby is sure to blow you away.”
