Mr Meurig Raymond CBE DL of Trenewydd Fawr Croesgoch was recently sworn in as the 50th High Sheriff of Dyfed.
St Davids Cathedral was the setting for the High Sheriffs annual service of declaration.
The service was officiated by the Dean of St Davids The Very Revd Dr Sarah Rowland Jones LVO OBE.
In the presence of Miss Sara Edwards the Lord Lieutenant of Dyfed, civic dignitaries and guests, the High Sheriff pledged his oath of allegiance to the Monarch and to the Shreivalty.
He undertook to support the Judiciary, emergency services and to reach out in support of good causes and charitable work across the region.
Mr Raymond is well known in rural circles as former National President of the NFU, a position he held for four years. He is currently the Chairman of the prestigious Farmers Club in London.
