Tenby and District Probus Club's first meeting in August was a complete contrast to normal as they left their headquarters at Tenby Bowling Club and travelled to Carew aerodrome to visit their re- established control tower. This is a project which has been undertaken, by a band of enthusiasts, to return the tower to its original condition and to refurbish it as it was during the war years. On a beautiful sunny morning, members, accompanied by their wives, were entertained by talks and slides in what was a very enjoyable hour. They then made their way to the Redberth Lodge for lunch. All this was in stark contrast to their normal meetings and the feeling was that perhaps they should try this approach to other venues in the future. Thanks go to Deric Brock and his associates for their talk and to the ladies for the tea and biscuits. The secretary confirmed that the trip to Bristol on Wednesday, August 31, was to go ahead and there were still three seats available. The next club meeting will be on August 17 when the speaker for the day will be Don Griffiths. If you are a retired business or professional man, why not join them for the morning.
