A Pembrokeshire business which has become an internationally renowned supplier of spring water is expanding its operation in Narberth with the aid of an Assembly Investment Grant. Princes Gate Spring Water was established in 1991 by two brothers, David and Glyn Jones, who sought to diversify the family's organic dairy farm by extracting and bottling pure spring water from an underground source. Since then, their enterprise has grown steadily to become a market leader and industry trend setter with a range of still, sparking and flavoured water. Its customers now range from retailers such as Sainsbury's, Asda and Pret A Manger to some of the country's largest food service and distribution companies. Princes Gate, still based at New House Farm, is now investing in plant and equipment to expand its capacity. The investment, which will add another four jobs to the firm's 16-strong workforce, is being supported by an Assembly Investment Grant delivered through a fast-track scheme designed to help the launch and growth of smaller firms in Wales. Last year, more than 200 similar grants were made to a range of businesses across Wales to support total investment worth over £25 million and the creation of 651 new jobs Economy and transport minister Ieuan Wyn Jones said: "I'm delighted the Assembly Government has been able to support this excellent local business with an Investment Grant. This unique grant scheme is proving its worth in providing growth- minded, smaller firms with simple and straightforward access to financial support."
