Mr. and Mrs. Harrison-Allen, the owners of the 17th century Grade 2 Listed Cresswell Corn Mill, are to receive a prestigious CPRW Rural Wales Award.
The Pembrokeshire branch of the Campaign for the Protection of Rural Wales (CPRW) has chosen the mill restoration to receive their popular annual environmental award for 2003.
Given in recognition of the sympathetic restoration and conversion, the mill and adjoining Millers House now offer high quality holiday accommodation in a beautiful unspoilt and tranquil setting on the banks of the Cresswell River.
The scheme has retained, conserved and restored much of the original milling equipment and architectural details, much of which now provide spectacular interior features.
Great care has been taken during restoration to protect not only historical features, but also the existing wildlife and to encourage and enhance the existing wildflower source.
The award will be presented to Mr. and Mrs. Harrison- Allen at Cresswell Mill next Saturday, May 10, at 2.30 pm.
Anyone interested in attending the presentation should contact the branch president, Mr. Michael Brace, on 01834 812430) for further details.
