Preparations for the massed choirs concert, Albert Hall 2007 commenced with a contingent of Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir choristers joining other South Wales choirs in Neath for the first of many rehearsals on Sunday.
Conductor Alwyn Humphreys and accompanist Hugh Tregellis Williams put the assemblage through a vigorous work out of part of the full programme. Mr. Humphreys is infamous for the rigour and attention to detail he demands from choirs under his baton. His humour is legendary also, but employed specifically to induce the best from those in his charge.
Anyone wishing to go to the Albert Hall would be well advised to apply at the earliest. This is a hugely popular event and regularly sold out.
