Tenby's reputation as a major tourist resort has been further enhanced this week with the town being named as having one of the top 12 beaches in the United Kingdom by Which magazine.
Tenby has been recommended by the June issue of the consumer magazine as one of the country's top beaches, and is only one of two singled out in Wales.
Beaches have been selected for water quality, accessibility, and safety and the magazine highlights Tenby's Blue Flag and Seaside Award winning beaches
"The 'Little Fort of the Fishes' has excellent beaches," says Which.
"South Beach has more space for families," it continues. "It extends a mile from St. Catherine's Island to Giltar Point, with views to Caldey Island where monks make toiletries from gorse flowers.
"North Beach (with water quality that achieved the lower EU mandatory standard in 2000) sits beneath cliffs curtained with rich greenery and has lovely views to a picturesque harbour lined with pastel Georgian houses.
"Tenby's shops, restaurants and pubs are inside the town walls, a few minutes walk from either beach," it concludes.
