TEMPORARY Police Inspector, Ian Richards will be pounding a different type of beat next month when he performs a charity show at Folly Farm, Begelly.

Formerly a sergeant based at Whitland, Ian will become Phil Collins for the night on Saturday, February 1, when he pays tribute to the rock legend in his one-man extravaganza.

Now based at Llanelli, Ian's musical trip down Memory Lane is a treat for all followers of Collins and Genesis, with the hit-packed evening paying a nostalgic tribute to one of the finest singer/songwriters of all time.

Originally from Haverfordwest, Ian, who now lives in Laugharne, left the area in 1987 to join the Thames Valley Police, where he took up singing as a hobby.

He has subsequently starred in a 'Stars in their Eyes' style show, performing as Phil Collins all over the country, but now he is returning to his native Pembrokeshire to perform at the Folly Farm theatre to raise money for the Noah's Ark Appeal.

Tickets for the one-off show are priced at £6, with £4 concessions, and are available from the Folly Farm Box Office on (01834) 812731.
