Narberth's postal delivery office could soon be on the move. At Tuesday night's meeting of the Town Council, Clr. Wynne Evans told fellow members that he was confident a switch to new premises would soon be made. "For the last few years there has been speculation that Narberth Delivery Office will be relocated out of town, which is something that I think will suit all parties, as it has outgrown its current site in Spring Gardens," said Clr. Evans "The Royal Mail have identified a possible site, but we are about 12 to 18 months away from any further development, but I'm very optimistic," he added. When the Observer contacted the Royal Mail, a spokesperson said: "We are aware that there are health and safety issues at Narberth Delivery Office, including restrictions on space and vehicle access. "The wellbeing of the 30 people working in the office in Spring Gardens is of paramount importance to us, which is why there is a feasibility study in progress, investigating alternative options to improve the situation, including possible relocation," continued the spokesperson. "Staff are aware of the state of play, but no decision will be taken until the feasibility study is completed."
