Despite a walkabout that was held recently to tackle growing concern about the number of A-boards and other street obstructions in Tenby, one councillor said this week that he didn't feel that much improvements had been made.
"I've not noticed a great deal of difference," said Clr. Will Rossiter at Tuesday night's meeting of Tenby Town Council.
His colleague, Clr. Laurence Blackhall who embarked on the walkabout along with the county council's streetcare manager, Mr. Marc Owen, Chamber of Trade vice-chairman Jane Merrony and town council clerk Andrew Davies, said that it was a very positive exercise which saw substantial progress made.
"Immediately after we spoke to the businesses in the town, things looked a lot better, but now that pedestrianisation has started again, it's a different ball game which changes the nature of the issue, so we'll need to revisit it again after the summer," he said.
"All the businesses took on board the issues that we raised and were very co-operative.
"It was also pleasing to see that Mr. Owen enforced the rules where street pedlars are required to move on after 15 minutes of being in one spot. So it's important that we make everyone aware of those rules and ask the businesses in the town to help regulate it," he added.
