IN Darren Millar’s new Welsh Conservative Shadow Cabinet in the Senedd, Ceredigion Penfro MS Paul Davies has been appointed Deputy Leader, Shadow Trefnydd, Chief Whip and Shadow Minister for the Welsh Language, Culture, Tourism and Sport.
Darren Millar MS said: “The team brings together a wealth of talent and experience. It will hold Wales’ new Plaid Cymru Government to account and work tirelessly for the people of Wales, speaking up on the issues that matter.
“We will be a constructive opposition party in the Senedd, seeking to work with others, where possible, to effect positive change across the nation. That will include continuing to make the case for lower taxes, an end to wasteful spending, and offering solutions to fix our public services.”
Paul Davies MS commented:
“I’m pleased to continue serving as Deputy Leader, Shadow Trefnydd and Chief Whip for the Welsh Conservative Group, and to take on the additional responsibility of Shadow Minister for the Welsh Language, Culture, Tourism and Sport.
“Wales has a deep and enduring pride in its language, arts, culture and sporting life. I look forward to engaging with and listening to stakeholders across these sectors, working collaboratively to support and strengthen their continued success.
“I’m particularly pleased to lead for my party on tourism – it’s an industry that is vital to communities across Wales, supporting jobs, businesses and local economies. I will continue to advocate for an approach that reduces unnecessary red tape and regulation and creates the right conditions for these businesses to grow and prosper.
“Finally, as a proud Welsh speaker, I’m honoured to play a role in championing our language and promoting its central place in Welsh culture and identity.”
