Jon Harvey won the Pembroke St Mary North ward seat vacated by Dai Boswell at last night’s by-election.

Clr. Harvey (Independent) polled 187 votes - over 100 more vthan his nearest competitor.

The results in full were as follows: Bob Boucher (Independent) - 59 votes; Maureen Bowen (Welsh Labour) - 61; Daphne Margaret Jane Bush - 79; Natalie Sarah Carey (Welsh Conservative) - 45; Lyn Edwards - 42; Jon Harvey (Independent) -187; Jonathan Anthony Robert Nutting (Independent) - 77; Al Williams (Independent) -26.

The turn-out was: 36.6 per cent.

Clr. Harvey said he was ‘absolutely delighted’ at having been elected and that the residents of the ward put their faith in him to represent them.

He also thanked his fellow candidates for a ‘fair campaign’ and also the electoral services staff for their professionalism throughout.
