Simon Hart has been adopted as the Conservative candidate for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire for the third time.

Mr. Hart, a 52-year-old father of two from Narberth, has been the MP for the area for the past seven years.

He has served on the Welsh Affairs Select Committee and the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee during his time in Westminster.

He plays cricket for Cresselly and is a dedicated Park Runner who aims to complete his 100th 5km run at Colby Lodge this summer.

He first won the seat from Labour in 2010 with a majority of more than 3,000.

He said: “I am very proud and excited to be standing again for my home area. This job is one of the greatest and most challenging anyone could ask for and to have so much local support is a wonderful feeling.

“There is no such thing as a dull day and I gain great comfort from knowing that everyone knows someone who has been helped by my team in the office. Every decision I take always has our area foremost in my mind.”
