Angela Burns has today been re-elected to the National Assembly for Wales to represent the constituents of Carmarthen West & South Pembrokeshire, having more than doubled her majority, which came in at 3,373 compared to 1,504 in 2011.
Ms Burns has represented the constituency since 2007, when she defeated the sitting Labour Party member Christine Gwyther by 98 votes.
Following the result, she said: “I am delighted to have been returned once again to serve the people of Carmarthen West & South Pembrokeshire.
“In me, the people of Carmarthen West & South Pembrokeshire will continue to have a tireless champion of local issues and I can assure them that I will continue to back their corner in the National Assembly for Wales.
“I look forward to getting back to the hard work I have been elected to carry out.”
