The Association had invited the Inspector to the meeting in order to learn about the police perspective on "anti-social behaviour." The Inspector, in a wide-ranging talk and question and answer session, explained the Division's priorities and how "hen and stag" parties affected his available manpower.
Special Constables provided invaluable help at weekends, but the Inspector called for more volunteers to help man the CCTV system.
Richard Walker, Chairman of T.W.T.R.A. said: "We welcome the new Police and PCC initiative "putting communities first" and agree that a better service is needed, as it is not provided properly at present. We also look forward to being consulted as a key representative in all areas of concern for residents."
The next open meeting is on October 7 at 7.30 pm in the De Valence cafe area. All welcome.
Copies of the minutes of the meeting are now available from the secretary at 2 Rock House, St Julian's Street.
