Dyfed Powys Police Roads Policing Unit are appealing for information into a road traffic collision on the A40 dual carriageway junction with Bancyfelin, near Carmarthen, which happened at about 8:55 am on Saturday.

A police motorcyclist traveling towards Carmarthen had to take evasive action to avoid colliding with a light coloured medium sized car which crossed the central reservation from the west bound carriageway turning right into the east bound carriageway into the path of the rider.

This manoeuvre caused the motorcyclist to lose control and be thrown from his bike. The car in question did not stop at the scene and was last seen heading in the general direction of Carmarthen.

The police motorcyclist did not sustain any serious injuries.
