Sir,

I refer to Mr. Fryer's letter in the Tenby Observer, Friday, October 4.

Mr. Fryer should think again accusing the police of part-time services, when it is the local authority that grants the licences for karoake etc in the first place and expects the police to pick up the pieces.

The police have a difficult job and it is not easy to please everyone; they need the support from the public and urgently need more police. Muck slinging like Mr. Fryer has done is not in the best of interest, and should be regarded as a load of rubbish.

Mr. Fryer states that the stag, hen, yob or slob leaving the karoake are the problem; taking them to court is a problem. The hours the police have to spend and when they get to court, they get a warning.

One can understand the waste of time the police have to put up with.

Regarding the rates that are paid to the police force, they are unfunded and undermanned.

Jim Phillips,

101 Upper Hill Park,

Tenby.
