With the new school term beginning this week, local police inspector Les Clark fears that daily parking congestion outside certain schools will start as pupils are dropped off and picked up.
Said Insp. Clark: "I would appeal to all parents who drive their children to school to ensure that they do not park illegally or dangerously. Even stopping for a short while causes chaos because it is replicated by other parents doing the same thing.
"Ironically, this daily chaos may place their children at more risk than if the children were allowed to walk to school in the first place.
"I have particular concerns about Greenhill, Saundersfoot primary and Narberth primary schools, all of which experience traffic chaos in the mornings and afternoons.
"I have asked traffic wardens to monitor the situation and will issue fixed penalty notices to offending drivers if necessary."
