CHAIRMAN of Tenby Royal British Legion, Gordon Prime (pictured), will be starting his 51st Poppy Appeal collection in the town tomorrow (Saturday).

Mr. Prime, who is also chairman of the Normandy Veterans Association, is looking to local people to help make this year's collection the best ever.

"The lads and lasses serving our country need our help more than ever now," he told the Observer.

"I keep saying this is going to be my last year collecting for the Poppy Appeal, but I keep doing it.

"I just hope we can make 2009 a record year."
