Sir, As we approach the 98th Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, may I, through the medium of your columns, respectfully call upon the ever-generous folk of Tenby and district for their continued support. The Poppy Appeal is the lifeblood of the benevolent services of the Legion, calls upon which, from serving and ex-service members of the armed forces and their dependants in need, increase by the day. Our armed forces have served us well in two terrible world wars and in numerous other conflicts, and continue to do so in the current arduous operations in the Middle East. Too many have been called upon to make the supreme sacrifice and many of those who survive still suffer as a result of their service. We are honour bound to keep faith with them all. Please give generously and wear your poppy with pride, this small emblem of remembrance. We will remember them.

Wilf Hardy, President, Royal British Legion, Tenby.
