Pupils from St. Florence School, who are undertaking an activities project on plants, got to pick up some specialist gardening and growing tips this week as they paid a visit to the village's Grandiflora Plant and Garden Centre.
As part of their foundation phase activities, the children have undertaken a project on plants and growing things and on their visit to Grandiflora they were given the task of planting their own tomato plant each and told how to look after it and make it grow.
"It's been a very hands-on and interactive project, where the pupils have been able to learn about various aspects of planting and growing by touch and feel," explained St. Florence headteacher, Mr. Gari Davies.
"The children have been able to start at the top of the process involved in getting from one stage to the next, looking at small saplings right through to the big thirty-year-old tress," added Dan Morgan of the garden centre.
