With Saundersfoot’s ‘old putting green’ area in demand, village councillors were given an update on plans for the site at the most recent meeting of the Community Council.

Requests had been made by three organisations - the Rory Rogers Wheelpark; Bowling Club; and Sports Club, in recent weeks who have been looking to utilise the unused Community Council land situated at the rear of the MUGA and Bowling Green facilities.

The Working Party Committee had recently requested that a local architect draw up a plan of the area which could accommodate all three requests, for submission to the three organisations for their agreement, prior to approaching the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority for a pre-application.

At the meeting, Clr. Phil Baker passed around a copy of the first draft plan of a suggested layout of the area to fellow members.

It was agreed that this be the first step in a very long process and once the new Council is settled, a meeting be called inviting all relevant parties to attend and discuss the matter.

Members were told that consultation with neighbours and other stakeholders was key, with Clr. Baker to visit neighbouring properties as soon as possible.
