Plans to build 89 new homes in Narberth have been unveiled.

Asbri Planning Ltd. has been commissioned by Wales and West Housing Association to undertake pre-application consultation in respect of the proposed residential development and other associated works at land to the north of Adams Drive.

Outline planning permission for a residential development was approved in 2010 at the site which was subsequently extended via a section 73 application in 2016, but that application has now lapsed. The area has been allocated as a key site for residential development in Pembrokeshire County Council’s Local Development Plan since 2006.

In total, of the homes proposed 43 affordable homes are proposed, within the south of the site comprising 31 Social Rented Homes, and 12 discounted sale homes. The remaining site will accommodate 46 private homes, for open market sale.

The accommodation will comprise of a mix of 1 bed apartments and 2, 3 and 4 bed houses and bungalows.

The plans, which are now open for public consultation until Monday, June 20, will also be on display at a public exhibition, which will be held at Bloomfield House Community Centre on Wednesday, June 8 between 2 and 7 pm.

Jon Hurley, director of Asbri Planning, said: “We think this is a great opportunity to create new homes that will benefit the people of Narberth. Overall, the proposed scheme will deliver a variety of new homes to appeal to large sections of the local community, including first-time buyers, downsizers, and local people who cannot afford to rent privately.

“We want to make sure that the homes we plan fit in with the design and feel of the surrounding area. The designs bring together Narberth’s quiet village charm and the existing greenery of the site in a way that is respectful and compleme
