Among planning applications considered by Tenby Town Council at their meeting this month, for recommendation to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority were the following:

• NP/23/0606/FUL & NP/23/0607/ADV: Proposed installation of an ATM to be installed in the shopfront central lobby through the glazed window to the left of the entrance door as a through glass installation. ATM fascia with illuminated ATM sign and non-illuminated top sign. White lettering ‘free cash withdrawals’ and Euronet Logo out of blue and yellow background, at Seafront Pharmacy, 6 High Street, Tenby.

Approval was recommended with members welcoming the introduction of a new ATM in the town. The recessed position makes it less prominent within the Conservation area. That said, members felt that the proposed internally illuminated signage is not only of too big a scale, but the internal illumination is contrary to the predisposition against such signage within the Conservation Area. Councillors would welcome external illumination.

• NP/23/0618/S73: Variation of Condition 1 of NP/18/0601/FUL to allow an extra 3 years to begin works at 9 St David’s Close, Tenby.

Councillors offered no objections. Given the difficulties of the last few years in relation to the Pandemic and the Cost of Living Crisis, members did not feel it unreasonable to grant an extension of the time allowed to commence works.
