Tenby people’ will be given housing priority with regards to a new development in the town.

With the old property at South Parade, Tenby, currently being demolished, Pembrokeshire Housing is constructing, in partnership with WRW Ltd, a new development of flats, on the South Parade, due for completion this year.

The properties, a mix of two and one bedroom flats, are being built to Lifetime Homes Requirements, which means that they will meet the needs of a wide range of households, including families with pushchairs, as well as some wheelchair users.

Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, the town clerk, Andrew Davies, told members that the Housing Association had informed him that first priority would be given to Tenby North and South people when applications were considered.

“People in the town who want to downsize and those that meet the criteria of having a local connection will be given a preference, and should contact the Pembrokeshire Housing Association for an application,” he explained.

The Mayor, Clr. Laurence Blackhall, said that Clr. Mike Evans had done quite a bit of work on the matter, to see that locals were given priority, and that information would be held at the town council offices.
