Councillors in Tenby have recommended refusal for a dwelling to be built on a site at Narberth Road.
The application submitted by Mr. and Mrs. Manby, c/o James Nutting of Acanthus Holden Architects in Pembroke, came before members of the town council at their meeting on Tuesday night.
Members felt that the plan to erect a two-storey, three-bedroom dwelling at Bryn Y Mor, was an overdevelopment of the site.
They were also concerned about the potential loss of privacy and light for neighbouring properties, and about parking and access to the site.
The plans could also endanger a large tree on the corner which was subject to a tree preservation order.
“The site seems too small for the building they are proposing,” Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas told her colleagues.
“These plans seem to be inconsistent with the architecture of the area,” added Clr. Will Rossiter, before members unanimously agreed to recommend refusal of the application.
Their views will now be forwarded to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority for consideration.
