The Ladies Fellowship met on Wednesday, March 13, at in the Sunday Schoolroom. Maureen welcomed everyone and offered a special welcome to Mr. George Lewis, the speaker for the evening.

Following the singing of a hymn, for which Jayne played the keyboard, Maureen read a passage of scripture and offered prayer.

Maureen then introduced Mr. Lewis, saying that he was in familiar surroundings as he had spent happy years in his childhood, living at Cresswell Quay and attending Sunday School at Pisgah.

George told the ladies about the murals in the Town Hall in Pembroke. He explained why he and his wife had decided to paint the murals which are such a feature in the Town Hall and then, with the help of slides, he pointed out details in the murals which help to tell the history of Pembroke from early man to modern times.

One evening was never going to be enough for all that George had to tell, so the ladies are looking forward to a second visit, next winter, hopefully.

Marina and Maureen served tea and biscuits to everyone present.

The ladies meet next on Wednesday, March 27, when the speaker will be Mr. Adrian Cook from Pembroke.

Plans are now being made for a 'Spring Outing' in April. More information next time.

The services on Palm Sunday will be led by Pastor Gooding at 10.30 am and 6 pm. The Lord's Supper will be shared at both services. Sunday School will also take place at 10.30 am.

Looking ahead to next week, a service will be held at 7 pm on Good Friday, March 29, when Pastor Gooding will officiate.

We remember all our members and friends who have been unwell at home or in hospital and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this time.

A Christian welcome is extended to friends in the community to attend Sunday services or mid-week events.
