Sir,

There are many of us who have heard about the pier and pontoon proposal at Tenby Harbour for the first time in the last few days. We now read in the Observer that the town council has recommended it for approval to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority!

Apparently we have a matter of days to make any comments or objections known to the PCNP Authority.

So far, I have not seen a public notice of the application, never mind any announcement, presentation, communication, discussion, or public meeting.

I have therefore written to the PCNP Authority to object to the application on these grounds:

The project has significant implications for Tenby and Tenby Harbour, but it has been sparsely, if at all, communicated.

1. There should be an immediate and considerable extension to the deadline for responses.

2. For the application to be entertained by the PCNP Authority, there needs to be a proper public consultation with local councillor involvement and accountability.

The authority's decision on the application will apparently be delegated to its officers.

3. The importance of this application and its likely contentious nature require the consideration of the elected members of the PCNP Authority before a decision is made.

David Kitchen,

Tenby.
