Stepaside CP School held their annual sports on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 28 and 29, amidst blistering heat. The days proved to be steamy in weather and competition. Members of the school governing body, parents and friends alike all helped to make the sports one to remember. Mrs. Joyce Lewis, chairperson of the governing body, presided over events and presented the shields and cups to the successful competitors. The Merriman Cup and Bumper to Bumper Shield were this year presented to Merrix house, who accumulated the most points over the two days of competition. Headmaster, Mr. Peter Griffiths, thanked parents and friends for their support in making the days so successful. He thanked the children for their efforts and reminded them that it was the spirit of participating that was important.
