A trailer packed with humanitarian aid left Kilgetty this week bound for Albania.
As part of a project, co-ordinated by the Rotary Club of Milford Haven, Jane and Bart Gilbert, of Kilgetty Pharmacy, have been collecting toiletries, household items and medical accessories, to be distributed at orphanages, old people's homes, schools, clinics and hospitals.
As part of the Convoy of Hope project, members of the local community, together with some of the pharmacy's suppliers, have generously donated the items, which were collected by Duncan McNally, of the Milford Rotary Club, on Tuesday.
Other communities and groups in Pembrokeshire have also been supporting the appeal and Mr. McNally and two other club members will be transporting the aid collected to Albania later this month.
The lorry from the Milford club sets off on March 22 and will join with a convoy of vehicles from others from across South Wales for the 12-day drive to Albania.
The Milford club has also been fund-raising to pay for the hiring of the lorry and the fuel, and will be holding a musical event at the Torch Theatre on March 22 with Bill Posters Will Be Band and their crazy jazz show.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert wish to thank all their customers who kindly donated towards this worthy cause.
They also extend their thanks to SSL International, of Knutsford, for their hospital wound management donation, Western Trading, of Cardiff, for the children's toys and school accessories, Kent Pharmaceuticals for their donation of drugs, and the staff at Kilgetty Pharmacy for their participation in the project.
