Sir,

Well, here were are again, another extended seasonal weekend, the weather is beautiful, sunny and dry, also it is Valentine's weekend, with lots of visitors who want to stay in Tenby and guess what!

We have guests arriving asking "where can we park," saying they have driven around for up to an hour trying to find a safe place to park their cars, and also asking why the Rectory car park is not open.

• Perhaps the Church does not want to encourage visitors in the autumn and winter.

• Perhaps the Church thinks that the revenue gained from the Rectory car park is enough for them.

So why when the business community is being asked and encouraged to try and extend the holiday season in order to bring extra revenue and employment to the area, are they being obstructed by the lack of convenient off-road car parking, when there is a large car park locked and empty all winter.

This seems to force some drivers to park in stupid places, so blocking easy access for emergency vehicles. If the car park was open throughout the winter, even if only at weekends, this problem could be overcome.

That we are aware of, none of our guests had parking tickets, but many unfortunately did - these are not likely to return to Tenby!

If the cost of manning the car park is a problem, perhaps fitting ticket machines would be the solution. I am sure the revenue raised for the Church would be very welcome. If the Church feels they do not need the revenue, maybe they could donate to local charities who I am sure would be pleased to receive it.

Mr. Egginton and Mr. Firth,

The Lynmaure,

Victoria Street,

Tenby.
