A letter from a pensioner complaining about parking in Tenby should be forwarded to Pembrokeshire County Council and the police, members of the town council agreed this week.
The letter, from Pamela Ryan, of Bufferland, Pembroke Dock, was considered by councillors when they met on Tuesday.
The lady, who was accompanied by her partner, had experienced difficulties in finding a parking place when they paid a visit to her dentist in the town recently. They had also been given a fixed penalty parking ticket for causing an obstruction where they had parked.
"One back wheel was on the pavement edge by about two/three inches. Yet several other cars parked on double yellow lines in the same street did not have tickets," she wrote.
"We are both pensioners, and being in great haste due to physical difficulties, did not have time to check the car's back wheels.
"With regard to obstruction, I see cars parked half onto pavements and lorries blocking entire pavements every day of the week and nothing is done - so why is Tenby so particular?" she asked.
"As a result of this unpleasant and expensive experience we shall be avoiding Tenby for the foreseeable future," she added.
"Sadly, it is out of our remit," commented county councillor, Mickey Folland, who suggested the letter be sent to Pembrokeshire County Council's highways department and the police.
"I think we should also write to the lady informing her of our actions," Clr. Folland added. Members agreed.
