Emergency rescue teams were called out yesterday (Thursday) morning to assist with a medivac at St. Govan's Chapel. Four coastguard teams, Castlemartin, St. Govan's, Tenby and Manorbier, were paged to attend the incident at approximately 11 am. The St. Govan's team were quickly on scene and it was decided that the casualty, a 73- year-old woman, would have to be taken to hospital by helicopter, so the additional units were stood down en route, while a helicopter was dispatched from RAF Chivenor. During the wait for the helicopter, the woman was treated by ambulance and coastguard personnel for a suspected ankle or lower leg fracture, before being taken to Withybush Hospital. The woman, who was from Bexhill-on-Sea, is staying in Tenby on a coach holiday.
