At the March meeting of Pennar and Bufferland Community Association, the following matters were discussed:

Ideas of brightening up roadside hoardings with some 'street art' given 'thumbs down': The suggestion that the hoardings around the old Silcox car showrooms might be enlivened by a little 'street art' was firmly rejected by The Trunk Road Agency on the grounds that it might distract the drivers of passing vehicles on that very busy section of road.

Precautions against dogs fouling the pavements, streets and open spaces of Pennar: In response to the many complaints that some dog owners allowed their pets to foul the streets and open spaces of Pennar, PCSO Nadia Sullivan said that following consultations between Keep Wales Tidy, the PCC dog warden and the police, PCSOs have been granted the power to impose a £75 on-the-spot fine on anyone failing to clean up after their dog has fouled the pavement or other public place.

Pennar Court development to get the final finishing touch: The Rev. Roger Hart said that the residents of this recently-constructed estate were delighted that the pavements and roads in front of their houses were to be resurfaced and other finishing touches applied in preparation for adoption by the Pembrokeshire County Council.

Planning and Rights of Way committee report on the development 'North East of Imble Lane': Ron Selby (secretary) read to the members the salient parts of the report on the affordable housing development on land North East of Imble Lane, under planning application 12/0708/PA. Residents of the Imble Lane area had raised objections to certain aspects of the original plan, particularly that all the traffic from both this development (83 dwellings) and another site, east of Hill Farm (63 dwellings), was to be along Imble Lane. The access to phase one of the North East of Imble Lane development (possibly 40 dwellings) would be along Imble Lane, but when phases two and three were built, it was intended that an alternative access road running through the future development 12/0405/PA 'East of the Cricket Ground' would be created. Phases two and three of development 'North of Imble Lane' and 'East of the Cricket Ground' awaited the eventual upgrading of the main public sewerage line running east to west along Pembroke Road.

The last plot plan of the 'North East of Imble Lane' site to come into the secretary's possession clearly showed flats, houses and a green amenity area positioned across the point where the road connecting the two developments would run. Clr. Tony Wilcox, who sits on the planning and rights of way committee, said that RLH Architectural Services Ltd would just have to redesign their present road layout for the site.

The secretary said he would discuss these matters with Simon Hart MP when he met him at Pembroke Town Hall.
