At a recent meeting of Pennar and Bufferland Community Association, plans for HM The Queen's diamond jubilee celebrations were discussed.
Clr. Maureen Colgan proposed that the P&BCA should organise a 'street party' on Saturday, June 2, to celebrate this most propitious of occasions. Two suggested locations for holding the party were in the courtyard just off Castle Street, or in the grounds of St. Patrick's Community Hall. Should it rain on the day (as it did during the Queen's coronation), then the party could be held in the hall.
Clr. Tony Wilcox proposed that the P&BCA should apply for Community Chest funding to help with the cost of the Jubilee celebrations.

Eagerly-awaited announcement on the future of a Pennar long-established recreational area: A member asked when would Pennar residents be informed whether the application to have land at the west end of Military Road declared to be a town or village green, had been successful or not.
Clr. Tony Wilcox said that Pembroke Dock Town Council had made the application quite a long time ago, and it was expected that the PCC legal department would be able to pass on the inspector's findings in the near future, but he could not anticipate the outcome.
