Penally hall committee held their annual horticultural and craft show recently in the village hall.

The day was fine, and although the children's classes and the art were down on entries this year, the vegetables and flowers proved as popular as ever.

The day turned out to be a good one with many villagers and visitors attending in the afternoon to view and have a cuppa. So all in all, a very happy village event.

The committee are very grateful to all the judges for their help and expertise and also to Kiln Park Caravan Site for their generous sponsorship of the children's prizes, and also for sending a representative to present the trophies and prizes. In addition, a big thank you to everyone who helped in any way.

The prizes were as follows: Laurie Evans Memorial Cup for vegetables - A. Jeremias; Committee Millennium Cup (flower section) - A. Jeremias; Manorbier Garden Centre Challenge Cup (horticultural section) overall winner - A. Jeremias; Nan Jones Rose Bowl for craft - Ann Barton; Bryon Jones Trophy for art - joint winners David Barton and Sylvia Collier; President's Cup for preserves - Judy Williams; Hodgson Salver for cookery - Iris Taylor; photographic competition - Diana Vickery; children's winner under 10 years - Rebecca Barton; children's winner 10-14 years - Matthew Burnett; children's trophy overall winner - Matthew Burnett.
