The Penally Village Hall exhibition and raffle launch on Saturday, May 17, proved to be a great success.
The committee wishes to thank the organisations of the village who use the hall and provided such interesting exhibits, the helpers, anyone who provided refreshments and all the villagers who supported the event.
The exhibits were not only interesting, but provided valuable insight into the history of the village.
The highlight of the afternoon was when Mrs. Jane Davies, previously of Alyn Close, called in to say hello.
Mrs. Davies, who was a stalwart member of a great many organisations, had collected over the years information, including nearly all the cuttings from the Tenby Observer of any Penally people or activities. These she had compiled into scrapbooks and on her recent move had very kindly handed them on to the hall committee.
Many villagers read through the cuttings at the exhibition and it was hoped that they could be kept in the hall as an historical record of village life.
The committee's grateful thanks go to Mrs. Davies for these and many other photographic records, collected by her late husband.
Villagers are reminded that raffle tickets are on sale in the village Post Office and from committee members.
