Pembrokeshire Under 11s Schools' sides played in the sixth round of the Tom Yeoman Shield at Brecon on Sunday.
Both sides met South Powys in their first match.
The A side drew 0-0. Josh Koop, Jordan Richards, Ashley Smith and Oliver Worley all played well, but just failed to score that elusive goal. Jake Roberts played well in goal and kept another clean sheet, while Ben Edwards and Curtis Hurlow defended well.
The B side won 5-0, with Jason Finnegan, Matthew Richards and Declan Carroll scoring one apiece and Daniel Bryce netting two. Peter Scammell made his debut in goal, but had very little to do in the game. This 5-0 win on aggregate gave Pembrokeshire three worthy points.
The second set of matches were against Aberystwyth.
The A side drew 1-1, with Josh Koop scoring. Gareth Warlow, Greg Lees-Griffiths and Philip Horsley ran and tackled well throughout the game. Jordan Richards came close to scoring on several occasions.
The B team played very well against a strong Aber side. Nathan Roach and James Ruloff both defended strongly and 'keeper Peter Scammell made some crucial saves. Aber scored early on and Pembs. responded with a stunning Declan Carroll equaliser.
Despite pressure from Daniel Morgan and Elliot Griffiths, the match ended 1-1.
This result overall was a 2-2 aggregate, with Pembs. and Aber sharing the points.
Both squads were determined to pick up maximum points in their last match against South Ceredigion.
The A side drew 2-2 in what was a tense and exciting game. Phillip Horsley and Josh Koop scored and Jake Roberts made some important saves to keep Pembs. in the match.
The B side played some of their best football, with superb passing between all team members. Nathan Roach opened the scoring and the Pembs. boys battled well to keep their lead -3-2 on aggregate and another vital three points.
With two rounds remaining before the finals in May, Pembs. stay at the top of the table with 29 points. Aber are second with 26, S. Ceredigion third with 20 and South Powys fourth with three.
